Dog Show

September 2005

There were 180 entries for the Novelty Dog Show held at the Brownbread Horse Rescue Open Day, Ashburnham, E Sussex  on the 12th Sept.  Judge, Val Ayrey was well challenged to find the Dog with the most appealing eyes out of 28 entries, nevertheless Mrs Munn of Bexhill won the class.  The show was organised by Linda and Erik Morley to raise funds for the Horse Rescue Charity and the pony rides and children's corner with its bouncy castle complemented the enjoyable day out.  Max, the Boxer dog attracted a lot of attention while the two Weinerana's (Check spelling) of Debbie Morris ensured that they posed perfectly for the camera at all times.

Rosettes were presented to 5th place with first in each class being presented with a bag of dog food complements of Nicky Challiner, director of Hickstead Horse Feeds & Marsdens Sporting Dog Food.

Winners of each class were:

Class 1 Best Puppy, Stephanie Goodacre from St Leonards

Class 2 Best Rescue, Harry & Lynn Winchester from St Leonards

Class 3 Most Handsome Dog, Sue & Wayne Adams of Beauport

Class 4 Prettiest Bitch, Jamila Parr from St Leonards

Class 5 Best Movement, Mr Keeley, from Hailsham

Class 6 Best Condition, Mrs Burns, from Brede

Class 7 Most Appealing Eyes, Mrs Munn, from Bexhill

Class 8 Best Veteran, Madison Walters from Ashburnham

Class 9 Most Amusing Trick, Gill Poacock from Bexhill

Class 10 Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home, Ms Kerry Fish from Burwash.

The Supreme Champion of the Show was "Charlie", owned by Madison Walters of Ashburnham.  There was a parade of winners at the end of the Show.

The Show was so successful that Linda, the organiser, has decided to run two rings in May 2005, one for Novelty and the other for pedigrees.
